Experience the romance of the Victorian Era.
The Rose Farm Inn is known for its natural setting, romantic rooms and informal hospitality. A working farm until 1963, the twenty acres of farm land are now home to marsh hawks, ring-neck pheasant and white-tail deer. This peaceful sea and country setting is only a few minutes walk from the village and beaches.
Built in 1897, the Farm House opened its doors as an inn in 1981. The most elegant rooms have king size canopy beds and ocean views. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served in its inviting porch dining room.
In 1993 Robert E. Rose built the Captain Rose House, naming it after his great grand-father who sailed a two masted schooner. The rooms open out onto shaded decks overlooking rolling fields, and some feature a two person whirlpool bath.
Block Island is a destination you will want to take time to explore. The Rose Farm Inn with its own quality bicycle shop, Beach Rose Bicycles, is the perfect place to begin. Come to the Rose Farm Inn and make your Block Island vacation a memory that beckons you to return.
The Captain Rose House:
The Captain Rose House offers nine rooms with private baths. The first floor rooms have impressive two person whirlpool baths. They have their own front porch entrances and open onto a shaded deck overlooking rolling fields. The upstairs rooms are entered from a second story deck overlooking the farm. Each has a large ocean view dormer which creates a unique sitting area. The bathrooms have a single whirlpool tub and shower. With windows facing the prevailing breeze, the rooms in the Captain Rose House are always cool and fresh with sea air.
The Farm House:
The Farm House offers eight rooms with private baths with large tile showers. Two rooms share a bath and are ideal for families or couples traveling together. The Farm House rooms are entered from interior halls. The most elegant rooms have a king size canopy bed and ocean view. Bordered by stone walls and flower gardens, the Farm House has a shady front porch and a comfortable sundeck where guests may relax and enjoy quiet moments.
Meadow View House
Our new suite in the Meadow View House comfortably accommodates families or groups. It includes all the amenities for an extended summer vacation or a short getaway and is available in the off season.
Our guests begin their day with a complimentary light buffet breakfast of coffees, teas, juices, cereals and breakfast breads served in our inviting porch dining room. After exploring the Island, they return to the Inn to enjoy a summertime tea and dessert.
Sea Meadows Reception Site:
On a hill overlooking the ocean and surrounding meadows of the Rose Farm, Sea Meadows is a perfect site for a Block Island wedding reception. Bordering flower gardens and stone walls provide a lovely backdrop for catered events large and small.

Rates do not include 7% RI Sales Tax or 6% RI Hotel Tax. For your convenience a 4% service charge is added to the room rate to cover all gratuities.
Minimum Stay: In July and August, a three-night minimum is required; one and two-night reservations are booked on a space available basis. A three-night minimum is required on weekends mid-June through September. Two nights are required on Spring and Fall weekends. Holiday weekends require a longer minimum stay. Weekly rates are available.
Cancellation: A refund minus the $20 processing fee will be given for cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date. A refund minus the $20 processing fee will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the arrival date only if an alternate rental can be arranged. If a reservation is shortened at any time, a $20 processing fee will be charged and credit for the unused night(s) will be given only if an alternate rental can be arranged. If you plan to fly to Block Island allow time to take the ferry in the event air service is cancelled due to the weather. Refunds are given only if air and ferry service are cancelled.
